Well to add to this, the mushroom-men were infected by a variant of netherwart that was highly deadly, although it is currently in the homeland of the mushroom-men. Maybe somehow it could return and infect everyone?

There ARE others, but no one is one besides myself has actually chosen one as a character. Besides, no one ever bothered about mushroom-men until yesterday (although they DID exist)

And by everyone I meant every race. The way I described makes me think of Halo's flood
