I think ormans idea would make images useless, we only have a grand total of two offensive skills and bolt doesn't do much damage so basically forcing them to have slowdown after every single spell cast would mean that unless they could start really far away and run while waiting for their mana to regen (which is quite a while) so unless images got a massive management regent buff then they'd just get owned by every other class. I understand mages being a little op if fought incorrectly (I'm not gonna say how to fight them correctly otherwise we'll all get owned) but your suggestions would kill all of us mages.

Plz read my suggestion of the "Charge" skill. The aim of the proposal is to ensure that mages can get more spells without OP issues.

I have read it and your slowdown idea would make mages incredibly vulnerable and completely unable to defend themselves from anything at all, especially with things like creepers they would destroy mages if there was more than one creeper. Mages allready have consume to regen mana which gives 10 mana for one bone (I'm bored) but if images couldn't atleast run then they would, because of being so squishy, just be owned by everything so it really would make warriors and rogues open against mages.

I agree that mages should have more than a "grand total of two offensive skills". In fact, my efforts to pursue a solution for this had even led me to get in trouble with the admins. My idea of the "charge" skill is to limit the rate in which mages can cast magic as well as solve the kiting problem. By limiting the rate of casting for all spells to the recharge time of the "charge" skill (say 3 seconds) by raising all spell's mana to 100, mages could no longer pile a fast combo of spells on their opponent. While this will make mages extreamely weak with the currently extreamely limited pallate of spells they have, it will open room for both more powerful spells and a greater variety of spells to be introduced, without making them OP. Edit: If one observes how magic works on other games, one could see that magic casters all cast at a certain set-rate. magic casters usually also have many spells in their arsenal and usually take to stronger spells when they lv up, ditching weaker spells altogether.

I think that Rogue has to need a spec like ranger with skills like that you can shoot a fire arrow, but no summonarrow that's OP.

Hm...
*CLICHE POWERS, ACTIVATE!*
Please excuse my zero knowledge of heroes, but what about a different starting spell? Perhaps something like Magic Missile? Does reasonable damage, but does not set you on fire? And then put fireball is at a higher level.
This might be strange, but to my corrupted logic it seems fine, that if all classes had a fire skill? Rogues have firearrow, and warriors have firestrike?
Just my spouting ideas as usual.

The problem is, there ARE more stealth skills, they just have really high level requirements.

Mage: Yeah, Fireball is WAY too OP to be a starting skill. Use something like the priest's 'Smite', but long range?
Rogue: They need at least one skill with the bow to be different from a faster but weaker version of Warrior. And more nether warts needs to be introduced into the server to make Alchemy a worthwhile profession/skill.
Warrior: Should just be a tank with good armour, epic HP and close combat attacks. No bow, or being a rogue is useless.
P.S. Oi! Who lowered me Karma?!

Novus, you dont get it. Of course its easy to dodge the fireballs as your running at them, but once you get close enough to hit, your a huge target, and its hard to dodge that. Plus, Bolt can't miss, so they use that to auto hit and run. Also, I'd like to possibly combine Orman's, Spwack's, and sbong's. The Mages should have a non-elemental attack. Thats how it works in 90% of Magic games (skyrim excluded ). It should be sort-of-weak, use low mana, and low charge up, but have only the initial attack, no after affects of Fire. All higher level attacks, such as fireball and bolt should have a small charge up. Also, some type of Charge (the current charge ability, not Ormans. The current one is 'charges up to enemy really fast') ability should be open to Rogues very quickly, like level 10-15 since they are faster, and to warriors at like 20-30 to help catch up with pussy-fighting-mages

Before you folks get all worked up, why don't you wait until the heros update and the new mage classes before you burst a vein in your cranium?
