*As written in Colonel Victor Capez (Vexx)'s Journal*
Strange things are happening. Strange things indeed. News spread of the great scientist Syrren's return to Rull. I seeked him out, wanting to hear more of his amazing redstone wiring and contraptions. The Great Legend Igmikey appeared in Rull as well. It was a surprised confrontation between Syrren and Igmikey, neither expecting to see the other.
I travelled to Clarifen. On my surprise Syrren had travelled with a group to the city a day before. He was there on my arrival with Anders Vanhouzen, Squire Ryan Severance, Thomas L Boss, and the Lady of Clarifen. Festivities had began, times were good. Stories being told. I had left the festivities to survey the new grounds of Clarifen, only to see Ghasts floating above the city! I let out the alarm and everyone came rushing, each taken by surprise at the foul beasts that soared the skies. A battle was engaged upon, a battle I have not seen in many winters.
We decided that we must seek the Lord Igmikey for help and advice. Syrren left at once to travel to Rull, hoping to find him somewhere about the city. News travelled back, days later of Syrren's arrival of Rull, infested with hordes of the Dark Lord himself. Zasuti had taken his hold on Mirugan, and had begun the seige of Rull.
My companions and I travelled to Rull in haste. Upon arrival we had seen what could only be seen in night terrors. Hordes of zombies, skeletons, creepers, spiders, as far as the eye could see. We advanced, and fought in groups to try to manage the massive number of enemies that had besieged Rull. I fell, the light begining to fade from my eyes. Anders came to my rescue and after a time I was able to lift my blade again and fight for Rull and Mirugan once more.
Cries of "For Clarifen", "For Mirugan", and "For Rull" echoed throughout the city as men fought and were slain by the minions of the dark. It was as if a prayer had been answered, for Igmikey, the legend, appeared! He fought of minions of demons with the blades of Zicamgar, lighting flying from the sky towards his intended targets. The battle seemed to last for hours. Ig mikey fell, and the last anyone saw of him his body was sinking to the bottom of the Harbor.
Day had come at last, repelling the minions of the dark. Yet, another night, another stampede that we began to fight off. For three nights it was like this. Three nights fighting for our lives, fighting for the citizens of Rull and Mirugan. Yet, finally it seemed we had pushed Zasuti's minions back, and Rull was at peace, for the time being.
Igmikey's body was never recovered. Most those that had be slain were recovered and accounted for, marking the new graves so that they may always be remembered for their sacrifice for Mirugan.
I write this to tell the story of the Fringe events, for I believe the legendary tales are once again happening, possibly the era of a new age dawning. I am scared, the the world as we know it may change, that Zasuti may once again get a grasp on the world that I have come to love.
I fear our world does not have much time.
