as seen in the book "cloud mountain fortress" by Rorujo
For centuries after the World Forge, people had been terrorized by hostile mobs. In the fifth age (Five centuries after W.F.) it was decided that a militant force was needed. After much debate, King Ralcos decided to build a training ground on Cloud Mountain. This temple would train mighty warriors to defend the populace of Mirugan.
Building began in the middle of the fifth age, at the summit of Cloud Mountain. Some of the strongest men in Rull City were required to carry materials to the build site. The climb was long and treacherous, and many lives and materials were lost. However, it would be worth the effort, for Cloud Mountain would be nearly impenetrable.
With the completion of the construction at the beginning of the sixth age, the first four grandmasters of the temple were chosen. Beatrix: the only female grandmaster in the temple's history Clemente: The eldest and most wise of the four. He was a brilliant tactitian. Locras: The son of King Ralcos. He was the strongest of the four, and the most feared. Jaten: The fastest of the four, who also utilized the most techniques. The grandmasters were already defending Mirugan individually, and each one was a reknowned fighter in their territory. So when they were united, they formed one of the strongest forces in Mirugan's history.
A diverse and thorough training program was created. It trained warriors in tactics, speed, technique, and strength. Alongside these fighting aspects, character was also developed within each warrior. The temple also taught warriors courage, honesty, and selflessness. Thus, Mirugan was defended well for many years.
In the eleventh age, war began to appear on the horizon. Crimson town and an alliance of other neighboring towns became hostile to one another. Negotiations were breaking down quickly, and so the warriors of Cloud Mountain were summoned. The alliance struck quickly, and levelled the original Crimson town during nightfall. Many of the warriors of Cloud Mountain were ambushed in their sleep, which resulted in more than half of the warriors meeting dishonorable ends. The remaining forces aided what was left of the Crimson militia, and raided the alliance's headquarters during the following weeks. Although the war was won, most of the Cloud Mountain warriors were gone.
Peaceful times came to the land, and although it was a time to rejoice, many did not feel compelled to learn the arts of combat. The fall of Cloud Mountain temple came slowly and quietly, as demands for protection fell, and the need for merchants and builders increased. Eventually, the final class at Cloud Mountain Temple consisted of only five pupils. At the beginning of the seventeenth age, legendary hunter igmikey found a portal which led into the twisted land of the nether. Demons and fiends flowed freely from the gate, and wreaked havoc upon the land. The four grandmasters at the time volunteered to combat the minions of hell. 'Amernoc the obsidian cutter, Sario the judge, the clever Laex, and the swift Yssala ventured forth into the gateway, and immediately the monsters ceased to exit the portal. The people of Mirugan waited for their heroes to return, but days turned to weeks, and weeks turned into months. It became apparent that the final four (as are often called) would not return. Some say they died. Some say they gave in to the twisted flow of the nether, and became demons themselves. However, there is a small group of people who believe they fight on, keeping the monsters at bay, and forever protecting Mirugan.
Regardless of their fate, without the four grandmasters or suitable heirs, Cloud Mountain Temple was doomed to fall. The five students that remained all took separate paths in life. Today, Cloud Mountain Temple remains as a historic monument, a window to an age where a select few defended Mirugan from the forces of evil. Though the warriors are almost completely extinct, the legacy shall never be forgotten.
