I was banned earlier yesterday for "Griefing", and, while I am unbanned now (short 6 or 12 hour ban), I would like to point out that I was, by all understood rules, not griefing. As I know the rule, and as I've checked with mods/admins (Vexx and Alwayz to name just two), it is not griefing to break a block as long as that block is replaced exactly as is. In fact, when I checked with alwayz for a grief check for Zauber breaking into my house, it was stated that he was allowed to do so as long as the blocks were replaced.
Below you should see the chat with Zip, the mod that banned me for "griefing". The second screenshot is to show I was not responded to after my inquiry, 5min afterwards (he did not log; simply did not give a response. Saw him talking in chat a little later on).

Now, the point of this post is to let the server know that I was not griefing (this ban should not damage my personal permanent record), as far as I understand the rules set by the server. This is also to point out the seeming lack of knowledge of some mods on the server, and the seemingly carelessness of some of them (though I don't mean to insult anyone; I just mean to point out how some aren't so helpful).

I'm not calling for any action for this as I am, as stated, unbanned (though I did have to wait the duration of the ban). I just hope to clear my record and show concern for mod knowledge/help.

You also made a griefer tower to get into excison. That maybe why you were banned

That wasn't a griefer tower, bob. And if you actually read the screenshots, you can see the reason given was because of a "grief".

Easiest way to solve this is to see the server log for that day (it's today, I know) I DO remember a guy accusing you of jacking his stuff around 7-9 PM though. Meaning Zip. Wants you gone, Zauber is vengeful, or he's just whining ( I understand him, bob and some other guys wait for me to come home in the castle they built on my yard. I DO find it amusing that they used my supplies to build it, meaning I unwillingly participated XD)

No, I have nothing against this guy. I do my job, ZAUBER0530 reported someone griefing into his house. I lbed it, looked at the logs it gave me, and made the ban.

I understand you mean nothing personal Zip, but it seemed to me you banned me for something that was permitted by the rules. I'm not arguing the fact that my name was on the blocks, just that what I had done wasn't considered griefing by server rules.

this is why i always say a server should try and clearly define its idea of griefing to the staff for occaisions such as this. its always different.

The rules on griefing are simple, it's not grief if you replace the blocks exactly as they were, including signs etc, and this has been said many times and zip, aswell as every other mod, knows this otherwise chances are they wouldn't be mods.

Well then I seem to have been unjustly banned Delta. And that's not entirely true- just last week I had a conflict with one of the mods over a similar rules, in its specifics. The conflict was cleared up by an admin, who ruled in favor of myself.

The problem is that the "not griefed if replaced" rule is *relatively* new and not known by all mods, and players. I believe the rules just need to be CLEARLY defined in its specifics on the rule thread in the forums. There's too much ambiguity as they are now, and I hate bothering admins/mods for clarity as much as they hate being bothered.

You were unjustly banned, I'm not server staff but that is exactly what has been said by most admins and mods, probably including zip so I have no idea why you were banned unless zaub re-broke the blocks or something and managed to trick him.
