Please note that this is the 4th part of my bio. Thanks for reading!
After Madison said her good-bye to her friends, she boarded to boat to Cotton Cove. The place where she was born and escaped from. She needed answers and knew they were there. She scanned the entire boat for anything unusual.
"Calm down Madison. Its just a boat ride there." She told herself. "Nothings going to happen." She leaned against one of the poles. Making sure her gear was secure on her back to where no one could take it, she drifted into sleep.
About ten minutes into sleep, her instinks kicked in. Her eyes shot opened as she jumped up on her feet. Everything was fairly normal, except for the fact that the captain had red eyes. "Wait, red?" Her brain paused just for a moment to think about it. Then she turned around to meet a flying fist. Madison was on the floor and surprised to find blood coming from her nose. Quickly studying her foe, she took out the small dagger in her shoe. "Come on tough guy. Lets dance." She said showing the dagger to him. The man threw another punch, but missed as Madison rolled out of the way. Madison stabbed the knife in his back as hard as possible. The man swung his arm and threw Madison into the middle beam. Then he snapped the dagger in two. Madison learned never to show fear to a enemy, but the skill left her as she realized the foe's strength.
Madison grabbed the four throwing knives from her sleeves and aimed for the eyes. She stared in horror as they reflected harmlessly off of the beast. Madison reached for the bow on her back, but the man grabbed her wrist and threw her against the wall. When she hit the boat's wall, mounds of supplies fell on top of her from the shelf above. When Madison uncovered herself, she saw she was surrounded by six more just like the man. Now panicking, she thought quickly for a plan. Run! Madison charged at the man in front of her. The man was throwing a punch aimlessly in front of him as Madison jumped off his shoulder to a beam above. Amazed at her new skill, she ran across the beam. She shifted her weight so the beam didn't give way beneath her. She jumped at another bean and swung across it to another with ease. Madison grabbed the main beam for support as the boat shook violently left. Then it started to rain. "Great first big, bad, and ugly, now this?" Madison hands slipped from the bean and she fell straight into the sea, screaming.
"Is she alright mommy?"
"Well, shes breathing."
"What was she doing on the beach?"
"Shh. Shes coming to."
Madison woke up to the voices of the strangers and the waves on the shore. Trying to sit up she felt a sharp pain in her head. She laid back down and looked to see who was sitting next to her. A little girl, maybe no more than five and an older women with blood on her hands. It took a moment for Madison to realize that the blood was her blood. Madison could feel a spot on her forehead that was in pain, burning and the blood going down her face.
"Are you okay?" The little girl asked.
"Angel, go get mommy's potion. The red one with the blue cork." The older women said.
"Sure thing mommy." She replied and then running off.
Madison took a longer look at the older women. She was about thirty and was wearing green robes. Madison could tell from the pouch that she was probably a mage.
"Where am I?" Madison asked the old women.
"Your safe now. You are in Blossom hill."She said with a smile.
Hearing the name of the town, Madison remembered that it was Cotton Cove's neighbor and shouldn't be far down the road. Madison was just about to ask another question when the little girl came running back.
"I got the potion mommy!" She said excitedly.
"Perfect deary. You got just the one i needed." The old women turned to Madison and said. "Don't move, but this may sting a little." She then picked up the potion and pored it on the gash in Madison's forehead. It burned like wild fire, spreading throughout her face. The old women then put a cold cloth on Madison's face.
Madison's eyes shot open. She could see that she was still on the beach. Madison reached up the the gash and felt that it had been stitched up with at least four stitches. Madison looked around for the Old women and little girl named Angel. They were nowhere to be seen. Madison looked by her side and saw a red potion with a blue cork and a wet cloth. She smiled. She remembered the people of that Blossom Hill. Always friendly and ready to help, even if they don't get a reward. She picked up the potion and stuck it in her bag. Madison took the cloth wrapped it on her head as a bandage. She wasn't going to let herself die from infection when she had made it this far. Madison stood up and headed into the woods that were right next to the beach.
Madison had been walking for three hours. She sat down on a nearby rock to rest for a moment. It was night and she could see the full moon clearly. She waited a second and heard the howls of wolves on the mountains. Then she heard something else. It was so quiet she had to strain her hearing to hear it.
"Why did you leave me..." The voice began ", you could of saved me. Why did you leave me...."
Madison notched back an arrow as she tried to figure out where the voice was coming from.
Then in the loudest scream Madison had every heard yelled, "WHHHHHYYYYY??!!!!"
Madison fell to the ground covering her ears from the scream. It was so loud and so high pitched, she was sure to go deaf. Just when Madison though here ears couldn't take it any longer, it stopped. Then it was dead silent. Not one noise. Madison wondered if she had gone deaf. She confirmed that she wasn't when she heard the leaves whistle in the wind. "Who are you?! Show yourself!" She called into the night. Nothing responded. Madison stood there listening, knowing she wasn't going to get any sleep that night.
Welcome toCotton cove HELL. Thats what the sign said. Madison sighed deeply. "Good to be home."Madison said to herself. The place was a ghost town. Every building looked like it was either blown up or burned to the ground. Madison walked through the town passing homes, shops, and ash. Madison walked on. Memories flooded her mind. Madison smiles to herself. Then she realized where she was standing. The whole area around her seemed to darken. She was at the graveyard. Not only that, but the grave she was standing in front of said," R.I.P. Rose Scale, disappeared." Madison just stood there staring at the grave. Hours passed. Madison now sat staring. She knew she wasn't leaving until shes told herself that Rose was dead. Madison meditated staring at the grave. Finally Madison stood up. She saw that the sun was rising. She turned to leave when a cold wind surrounded her.
"My mortal body may be lifeless, but I am very much alive sister."
"Rose, why do you haunt me?"
"To make sure you never forget me of course."
"Your a little monster. You know that?"
Madison turned her back on the grave and started to walk away. She could feel her sister's energy flowing around the place. It reeked of yearning to be free, to walk once more with life. She wouldn't let it happen. If her sister were to walk among life again, they could be locked in a every lasting war. They would insistently go to war. Madison already knows how that would end. Madison now walked past a house that had been burned to ash. All the pain that her sister carried disappeared. Madison could tell, it was now sadness. For this house was their home. Madison did not see it, but instead felt her sister walk beside her.
"Do you remember this Madison? All the pain and suffering?"
"There was never any pain. This was a place of peace, yet you burn it to the ground."
"I burn it if it brings harm to me..."
"It only brought harm from all of the peaceful memories."
"Finally sister, something we can agree on."
"Rose, we have always been able to agree on things. Your just so ignorant."
"I guessing you know I'm not leaving anytime soon."
"heh, figures from a person like you. Wanting to see Rull?"
"Madison, I cannot wait."
Madison had already walked out of the old ghost town all the way to Blossom Hill. It was late. Madison had suspected that everyone was inside. She turned the corner to see a little girl sitting in the middle of the road. It was Angel. Madison went to greet her.
"Hey Angel, remember me? Your mom really did help me out." Madison said.
The little looked up and stared at Madison. Madison looked over the girls shoulder to see what Angel was writing in the dirt. "You have failed. You, you weren't suppose to come back." Angel was now slowly backing up.
"What do you mean?" Madison asking slowly walking forward.
"If she had failed, then I shall finish the job." Angel said to her.
"Madison...."Rose began.
Angel eyes flared pure white and she mumbled netherin. The "drawings" that she had drawn glowed white as well. "Madison, shes a netherin demon!" Rose yelled to her sister. Madison took out her bow and notched an arrow. Before Madison could fire the arrow, Angel shot an arrow of her own. Before Madison could defend herself, a Blast came from behind her. It hit the demon in the face. Madison stared in horror as she collapsed into a pile of sand.
Madison turned to her sister. "You, you saved my life." Madison said.
"It was nothing." Rose said with a unsteadiness in her voice. Madison looked at her sister in the eye. "Whats up?" She asked. "I was suppose to kill you." Rose answered. Madison remained silent. "I just, couldn't."Rose continued."It was like killing myself."
"Then maybe Arkenis was right. Two is a team." Madison said.
"Come on,"Rose said."lets get to Rull."
