In was a late Friday night when Madison finally made it back to Rull. She greeted her friends and said her hellos and then started toward Rull's beach by the lighthouse. Madison didn't want to be rude, but she needed time for herself. When she was burdened or troubled with something, she went there. It was the most peaceful place in Rull. That night however, the shore seemed to send out a dark essence. Madison took note of the feeling of peace was not there.
"What are we doing here sister?"Rose asked walking beside her.
"I come here to, think." Madison replied. Rose had situated herself in Madison's mind and now can be seen before her. Madison looked over at her sister unsteadiness.
"Something bothering you?"Madison asked her sister.
"Yes. Someone, or thing, is close by." Rose said glancing over her shoulder.
They had now reached the lighthouse. A gloomy, dark figured stood before it. Madison instantly knew who it was. Rose ,sensing something was up, watched Madison's flash back as she remembered it. The man was the one that attacked her at the RMF cafeteria. The murder of Rose. Rose now knowing she was in danger jumped behind Madison. Madison took out her bow and notched an arrow.
"Its good to see you again Madison. I see you have found, your sister." He said in a deep voice.
"I was having a splendid time till you showed up." Madison said back to the man.
"Well that's too bad. I came to get you achually." He said smiling.
" Heh, figures how Arturo kicked you ass at the RMF cafeteria." Madison said back. She knew that she and her sister were in some deep trouble.
"So shall we do this the easy way or the hard wa-" He was cut off as Madison shot an arrow right next to his head. "Ah, the hard way then." He said taking out a obsidian sword. Madison quickly notched another arrow and fired it at his arm. Madison smiled as she saw it went straight throw and into the side of the light house.
"Why you little piece of -Censored-...." He said prying the arrow at the building.
Rose shimmered into the shadows behind Madison. Madison reached for another arrow. The murder was charging at her when she shot her second arrow. He disappeared into mist and the arrow went into the building. The man reappeared behind Madison and slashed at her with his sword. Madison rolled to her right turning toward the killer. She could feel the blood oozing down her back in a line. She quickly stood up to meet the sword. It sliced along her face and she fell to the ground. Madison now blinded by her own blood flowing into her eyes tried to fight back. She had dropped her bow and attacked by throwing a punch at him. Her fist went straight into his face and a satisfying crunch came with it. Madison shook her hand trying to remove the pain from her punch as the man clutched his broken nose.
"You want to fight with fist?! All show you fist!" He said dropping his weapons and raising his fist. The man threw two punches at Madison. She was able to dodge the first on but the second one hit her face. Madison was now on her knees clutching her face in pain. The man now standing in front of her now held the sword once more.
"I was suppose to bring you back alive, but master can always bring you back from the dead. You would make a fine warrior indeed." He said raising his sword for the stab that would end Madison's life. Then Rose reappeared behind him and grabbed the arm the held his sword. The man screamed in surprise as she bent it backwards till he was on the ground. Then ,throwing a kick, she broke the man's arm. Madison could barley see, but she saw as her sister attack the man. She could see bones sticking out the man's arm where Rose had broken it. She saw bruises from her sister's punches and kicks. The man disappeared and reappeared where he had appeared before him.
"This, this is not over." He said as blood trickled from his nose and mouth. Then he shimmered into the moonlight and disappeared.
"Wow sis," Madison said" you kick ass."
"Heh. Well you tried." Rose replied. "Well need to work on that."
Madison stood up and washed off the blood with the salt water from the sea. It burned, but Madison didn't care. The water hid her tears of humiliation. Once again someone had to come to her rescue. It was going to get someone she cared about hurt, or even killed. She needed to be more alert. Madison muttered cusses at herself as she looked at the damage in the water. Black eye, cut along face, countless bruises and small cuts, and there was the slash along her back.
Her sister Rose was now leaning against the cliff side near the shore. She could hear her sister's thoughts. She knew Madison would be even more embarrassed if she told her that. She tried thinking of ways to improve Madison's defense as she listened to Madison's thoughts.
"Why didn't you turn your back?"
"Yep leave to someone in a cloak to kick you ass."
"Your YOUNGER SISTER fights better than you!"
"Why didn't you use YOUR DAGGER?"
Rose sighed. Madison was taking this a little harder on herself than she should. Rose prepared herself for the long task that waited ahead of mentoring Madison into better defense.
"So, Madison where to now?" Rose asked Madison.
Madison picked her bow out of the sand and started walking down the road.
"Back to the RMF. I need to train." Madison said swinging her bow over her shoulder and walking away from the beach.
