Solumde's Shrine

It all started in the year 650. A traveler named Geraft Yigher found a hole in the ground. There was a bright light illuminating from deep within. When he followed the light, he found Solumde’s Statue.

Geraft kept this to himself until he got to Rull, where he told Carlonaro Rull. He then asked for permission to build a shrine. King Rull gave him the right to build a shrine, but nothing more. But, Geraft had other things in mind.


Geraft went back to the god’s statue. He made a magnificent shrine. He used all the items that the god herself rules over. Yet, he made more. He made a deriving temple, where all could pray and live in peace.

When Carlonaro heard this, he allowed it, even though he told Geraft he can’t make a town. People believe that Solumde herself changed his mind; others just say he had a change of heart.

For a few centuries they derived. The leadership was passed down from generation to generation of the Yigher family, until the plague was hit the Solumde’s Shrine in 1400.

The plague was devastating to the people. It spread faster than the town itself did. Anyone that caught it started off with a fever, then started gagging. Soon, they started to spit up blood. There wasn’t much anyone could do. So, everyone that didn't get infected packed up and left in 1401.

It wasn’t until centuries later, that someone refounded it. Philat Hobs, a traveler that went to Rull to seek peace. He just wanted peace after war broke out between Lucavex and Rull. He wanted peace and quiet, so he left Rull and started walking.

Philat didn’t know what he found. He just thought he found another abandoned village. But, when he walked inside and found the temple, he knew he found the place he was looking for, the place of solitude. He even heard of the place, just no one knew where it was, or if it was real. He found.... Solumde’s Shrine.

In 1780 Philat Hobs had retired from the Rull Military Force and left Rull in search of peace. He traveled far and wide, searching for a place to settle down in. After many weeks and months of traveling, he found an abandoned town.
Philat explored the town and found a tattered book. The book didn’t have a title, but one sentence on the inside. It read “We are all gone, but Solumde‘s Shrine will live on forever”. Philat Hobs had found the shrine dedicated to Solumde.

Philat worked long and hard for five years to get the town to a livable state. He started recruiting builders to fix the housing area. The lead builder was Brindale Tuireadh. He lead each builder and gave orders while Philat was gathering food and materials for the town to prosper.

After three years, the housing was finished. Philat then asked to build defenses. He told them he wanted walls built to keep the monsters from harming the villagers. Philat and Brindale had builders and miners to gather stone for building. They then stacked stone bricks on stone bricks until the wall was just the right height for protection.

Finally, everything was ready for people to start moving in. Philat promoted Brindale to vice-mayor and gave him permission to enforce the rules if needed. People started coming in from all of Mirugan. There were all different kinds of races, from vampires to dwarves, all wanting to worship Solumde and get away from the politics in Central Mirugan. Philat invited his wife Phaidra Loukianos to come join the town.

By 1787, Solumde’s Shrine was a small village full of worshippers. Philat had a son and was slowly training him to be a mayor, even at a young age. He taught him how to be strong and in authority at all times. But even while he was, he was in a constant struggle with a thievery town, Arcem.

Philat reached the final straw when Arcem mayor sent in a traitor to raid the Shrine’s people of everything they had. He had declared war, even though all the odds were against him. He had no help from his allies, it was just his town versus Arcem. Finally after many battles and many deaths, Philat surrendered. He tried his best to get his town the justice it deserved, but it did not prevail. There were few terms for his surrender, but they were tough to get. All Philat had to do for Arcem was give them forty-five diamonds, ninety iron ingots, and ninety gold ingots. For his nation terms, he had to exile Brindale for accusations against Zemkrajste.

After the war with Arcem, things had settled down. Arcem had left the Shrine alone and Philat kept his town isolated from outside conflicts. Philat kept teaching his son, Robert, everything he could about how to run the Shrine. When Robert reached the age of nineteen in 1706, Philat passed away from a skeleton shot while hunting for food. Robert gained leadership of Solumde’s Shrine within the year.

After Robert became mayor he talked to Shezz Raulo, king of the nation, about allowing Brindale Tuireadh to be allowed back into the Shrine. He pleaded his case and Shezz allowed the one request. Since then, Robert Hobs and Brindale Tuireadh have lead Solumde’s Shrine together.
