It was a dark, cold night of the silence of 2994 Z.3 and a Figure could barely be observed slipping silently from treetop to treetop in the Elder Woods, stopping only to behold a strange silvery instrument. The figure was tired, hungry and frustrated-the mission has dragged for almost 75 hours without a single moment's rest. The figure sincerely hoped that this was not a false alarm.
The Figure had volunteered to stand in for a friend for this mission, initially thinking that it would be a good change to locking itself up in the Grand Library and writing Lore or drafting blueprints. The figure was greatly regretting its decision.
Anyway, this mission should not be happening in the first place, but for that waste of space young-ling, who had, in her idiocy, decided it to be terribly amusing to flick switches in the main BLAZE Laboratory. Many had seen the funny side when the Lead Engineer Drvark Kortoff (a Dwarf) returned to find BLAZE V667 missing but The Figure certainly didn't-it was the only prototype of the Pigmens' venture into AI before the dire events that led to their extinction.
A high pitched beep beyond the range of human hearing started The Figure from its muse. The strange instrument had picked up a signal. Leaping to the top of the tree, the figure spread a large set of wings while readying a net. Leaping into the air, The Figure swooped down towards the forest floor, its net catching the unsuspecting robot perfectly. Finally, The Figure can return to pouring over his beloved books.
A feminine voice droned, "Hostile constricting device-activating internal blades."
The Figure, who had just started to prepare to fly back to the portal with its package, was unpleasantly surprised-no one had said anything about the hunk of metal and advanced redstone circuitry being armed. Magical ropes began to materialise in the Figure's hands, but he was unable to cast them before BLAZE V667, with its synthetic red hair flying and its feminine synthetic face pulled into a furious snarl, aimed a most fabulous punch into The Figure's face. The last thought of The Figure as it watched BLAZE V667 disappear off into the distance was that it was going to miss the Rednoon Festival again-Marie would be outrageous in her comments. Then The Figure yielded to the dizzying effects of the punch and fainted.
