Haka: The race Haka is derived from a Japanese word meaning Hawk. Previously, the race was named Hebi, meaning Snake, but under Suigetsu Mizu’s rule, he brought up the new race known as Haka.
Physical Description: Pure blooded Haka have the same characteristics as normal men and women of Mirugan. Each pure blood has a scar on their right eye known as setsudan (see setsudan), cut by their father at birth, which sets the rest of the people from them apart. Haka have very light skin tone, almost pale and its height can vary from 6ft to 7ft in length.They are not very muscular but at will, their body shape can change and is able to wield any blade. They wear very light clothing and carries a blade on their back. Usually a Kubikiribocho, a very heavy and large blade which they attach a hilt onto when in combat. One of Haka’s weakness is that must carry some sort of water supply with them. If not, they will slowly die and perish.
Origin: The origin of Haka is still unclear and very vague to people. Scholars believe that they were an abundant race and well respected among people. Suigetsu Mizu, being one of them and the leader of Haka, was one of the last ones alive. Haka offered protection to many villages. In return, they were able to live in the village and be well fed. Haka live in Pagodas made by themselves and have a training/sparring area in the back. They welcome any challenge that comes across them and never back down from them.
Fall of the Haka: The fall of the Haka was very recent when Suigetsu’s brother, Mangetsu Mizu, got into a civil war which destroyed Hebi. It was believed that Mangetsu died while protecting Hebi and only Suigetsu lived. Those two were one of the nine Hakas which roamed the world and only Suigetsu lived to tell the tale.
Attributes: Haka are a very peaceful/calm race unless another disturbs there peace. They are not known to talk much and speak only when necessary. Haka tend to eavesdrop on people’s conversation. They are also very one minded and are very violent when in angered. Haka is also allied with many other races.
Setsudan: Setsudan is a ritual a father must preform when a Haka is born. He must use his own blade to cut his sons/daughters right eye. In doing this, he promises to protect and look after them. Not only they do it at birth but also at their marriage. But this time, they cut their right shoulder to show that they promise to look after each other. Only the male does Setsudan.
