I suppose it's all moot at this point.
but, this is how I mine:
I pick a spot that i think is remote and in the wilderness. I dig straight down to cobble, then dig a cobble staircase down to bedrock. once i reach bedrock, i go three or four blocks back up, then start digging a straight line in any one direction. while on the straight line tunnel, every 8-10 blocks, i turn to the right, left and above me, and dig as far as my pick can reach from the point im standing. then i'll continue on my straight line tunnel. I don't change directions until I'm forced to (lava pool, or i reach someone else's tunnel system or town.
Again, I have never, and would never use an xray mod just to find diamonds. Finding elusive diamonds is one of the most fun parts of the game and it's what led me to try to mine diamonds (and all other ores) in the most effecient way possible.
Thanks for the server and all you admins/mods do for it.
I hope that, if I'm ever suspected of xray again, you all remember the technique in which i use to mine. So i won't be accused of cheating again.
My temp ban is up in 45 mins or so, so i'll be on tonight. I'd love to show any of you exactly what my technique is so I'm not labled as a cheater.
