My first dog was 18 when we put him down, so I doubt you have a 20 year old cat, but a cat can live for 20 years if you take really good care of it.

Well, cats live longer than dogs.... as everyone knows, the amount a human grows in 7 years is = to how much a dog grows in 1 year, so dogs live 1/7 of a Human life. Cats, however, live up to 1/5, so 20 years or longer is easily possible

average life for a cat is 9-15 years although the oldest one was 30-something, but still....
