So I've been reading some articles lately about how hard it is so be a female gamer. Strangely all but one of them were written by guys and their findings were in contrast to the experiences of girls who I know who game so I thought I might ask you lot what you think about this issue  |

I wish more females (Mostly people in my country, not necessarily all females in the world) actually visited the perspective of our side of gaming. They sometimes add new topics and can help make the game more competitive...

Hahaha..... Sorry! It doesn't happen... THAT MUCH. But no. There is some bit of discrimination. It depends on the playerbase so it varies from place to place. Things I have run into: OMG YOU ARE A GIRL? Pics or it didn't happen. (I fully admit to doing this too.) People think you are a dude. (Admittedly happens a lot because there are lots of guys that will pretend to be girls for an advantage. There are a lot of sad people out there that will fork over things to girls for free because they are hopeless and it's the only time they ever spoken with a chick because they are too afraid to IRL. SO they are hoping to score some virtual tail.) Guys think they are better than you because you are a girl. (They think chicks can only be wimpy healers or something and not kick butt. Depends on the person really. After all, there are guys and girls that just plain suck at games. Completely unbased comment.) Guys will throw themselves at you or fawn over you insanely. (This happened more back in the day. I believe the misconception of "There are no girls on the internet." is toning down a bit. So if you did prove you were a girl, you had everyone and their brother after your tits. Flattering? Perhaps. Sure gave a nice ego boost. I never was one to take free stuff though. I was the cut throat seller who wanted all the moneys.... still how it is? OF COURSE!) I am sure there are some other points I am missing. Oh yes, Krazzie's get back in the kitchen comment kinda plays into the "guys are better than girls" thing. |

Honestly, 95% of all females I've ever meet are jerks, so the thing that stops me from saying that I hate them is that; out of the five or so females that are usually on AOC, two or three of them are not arseholish most of the time.
Also, I realize that my answer is incredibly biased, but that's because I didnt start out from a neutral standpoint.
