The market has historically been a centre of communications as well as commerce for communities. Having a weekly or bi weekly market day would be a great way to encourage RP, stimulate trade, give better deals on goods for consumers and give producers a chance to get their product out there. They could be nation or town based giving players a better relationship between players and towns which will be needed with the removal of the /spawn command. I know that the farmers markets here in New Zealand have had a positive effect on communities and I think something lke this would be good here as well.

I agree with chaza but we have to come up with ways to have this implemented.
So maybe something like thing cannot be bought on the week days only on week-ends.
Maybe there might be extra goods on sunday and saturday where on the weekdays there is just the normal markets and week end markets have 10% off or something

I think just weekends would be best. It needs to be an event so once or twice a week is good maybe twice in a weekend at different times. Like Saturday morning to miday and then Sunday midday afternoon.
