What position are you applying for? Guide
Why should you be accepted?
I was helping newer players regularly before the update and my inactivity, and have started doing the same again. The update has brought with it many newer players who need some advice to get started. I believe that with my knowledge, I can give back to the community and make it larger by helping players with their questions, and convincing them to stay.
I cater to every individual's needs, and am not just a bot that says "Welcome to AoC, [playername]! Please read the rules and ask any questions you have!" and then leaves the player alone. Instead, I do follow up and answer questions about the server they have. Being on a new server is not always fun, but if it is, players do decide to stay. I help and guide newer players through their rocky moments, and try to make their introduction to AoC as smooth and as enjoyable as possible.
What minecraft experience do you have?
I have played since Minecraft Beta 1.6, so not as long as others. But, is it not the experience of the current version that matters? I have a decent amount of knowledge about 1.3.2.
How long have you been on this server?
My forum account was made on Jan 26, 2012, but I joined the server a few days before.
What is your timezone and minecraft schedule?
Timezone: GMT +8
I can play Minecraft mostly in the evenings, or around 1am should I choose to stay up. Normally, I play a lot on the weekends.
What would you do if accepted for this position?
The answer is simple; I would perform my duty as a Guide whenever possible, and try to give new players a good introduction into AoC. I will offer them what knowledge I have to better their experience. This will not change whether or not I am chosen as a Guide.
How would you better the server?
If a new player is greeted warmly when they first join a server, and they don't feel alone or helpless, they will normally stay on the server for a while. If the atmosphere on the server is good, and the community treat the newer player fairly, he/she will stay even longer. A guide's role is to help the newer players in a way that will convince them to stay, and I believe I can fill this role well.
Due to my help and advice, I have convinced many to stay and get involved with the community. Craftstal is one example, I helped him with his questions and gave him advice on making his first base He is still playing AoC today. There have been others, but I can't remember their names x.x If I did help you decide to stay, please do tell me so I remember! Through making the community and player base larger and more friendly, I like to think that I am benefitting, and perhaps bettering the server.
I remember when I first joined. The new market had just been opened, and I spawned in Rull thinking that it was an amazing place. I had been invited to join by Spwack, and was greeted by him and many others I did not know when the "Sbongkh has joined the game" flashed up on global chat. Spwack explained the basic aspects of the server to me patiently, and others chipped in too. I was also picked up almost immediately into a town called Clarifen, owned by alwayzbored114, who was the General of Rull at that time. I was overwhelmed with the wave of new information, and Alwayz became one of my first but most influential teachers, even if he didn't realise it. Through him I learnt all the details about towny, how to RP well (I could RP back then, but I wasn't great) and the RP situation in which I had been brought into. Thank you to everyone who helped in my initiation to AoC, you all did your job well
Any other information that you would like to share.
My last application had some decent feedback, but due to my recent inactivity, some retracted their support. Riakai and James spamming my thread with useless comments didn't help either, getting it locked multiple times. So, I asked Rei to delete the app, and decided to start anew.
I take and give orders just as well, am a team player and a leader (Grass hockey team captain and tennis player), am responsible and organised. I am online between 4pm - 10pm GMT most days, and sometimes earlier. If you want to contact me, my skype name is Valforelf, so just send me a request. Or you could always PM me about any issues you have.
This app is liable to change in the future.
Thank you for taking your time to read my application. May AoC prosper forever.

Sbongkh
