(My way of explaining the seemingly total eradication of culture and history of the Ari' Nai)
Tillem Disease was a plague that swept through the Ari' Nai population around the time of their culture's collapse. This disease causes memory loss depending on severity and the stage of the disease.
Stage 1: Infection-8-10 hours
This disease seems to only effect the Ari' Nai, and there is no record of any other race being infected with this, and causes rapid memory loss through unknown means, other than that the disease resides in the victim's head and lungs. All memories considered "Trivial" will be lost, and only memories very firmly embedded in the mind, or memories that the victim fights to keep will be retained.
Stage 2: Incubation- 1 week
During this stage, the memory-loss symptoms have passed, and the disease "incubates" itself inside the lungs and cranial cavities.
Stage 3: Release-10 minutes
During this stage, the disease will have fully incubated, and will release the plague, in a way not unlike a fungus's spores, through the lungs and out into the air.
Stage 4: "Shell"- Permanent
This stage, after the last three stages, is a description of the victim. The victim's hardiness affects the effects of this disease after release of infection "spores".
If the victim was severely diseased, the disease may repeatedly take the memories of the victim, making learning and training harder.
If less severe, the victim is most likely to only lost their memories one time, and are not likely to be affected by Tillem disease again.
edit: bad me !
Anyways: now that I'm mostly derp free, I still think we need an explanation of the lack of information about Ari' Nai culture. For example, civilizations that large would leave something of notice behind, such as the temples Hiram Bingham found in South America, etc. Feel free to lock my herp thread as you wish, but I personally want answers.
