OK, quick thing my town has over 8000 GsD we use that money to build the town and buy stuff now i think though that we should just trash the chest shops instead of destroy all the stuff that we worked for i worked really hard and only have 1 diamond so instead of ruining the GsD my town has in the bank plz consider just taking away the shops after all this is an RP server unless that has changed and the shops are not RP in my eyes the shops are what ruins the money system not the not the GsD for the shops can have diffrent prices than the other shops so someone can continually make more and more money until they have no inventory space left or the shop they are farming gets full or the shop owner stops the shop or if the shop owner runs out of GsD don't you see that alone proves my theory i hope you see it the way i do i have also talked with another palyer with the same thought.
NO WAIT igmikey this thread is about the excrutiatingly long run-on sentence above.

thanks for understanding a bit wingler. its better to reset the economy now instead of when people have moremoney. if enough people complain about it ill just close the server down. just shows me that people arnt open minded enough to accept such things. other servers reset while maps. you guys are lucky im not going to that extent

You guys need to realize, its not like we're picking one or two people to reset, its everyone. You're all starting over, for the betterment of the server. Stop complaining that you're going to be loosing your money, cause here's the thing. Its minecraft, and what is minecraft best known for? Starting over all the time.

Just to give my opinion since the original thread was locked i studied business in 6th form and got an A in it so from reading the discussion i can simply say that what igmikey says is correct. If all of you complaining saying its a bad idea looked from a real prespective instead of just thinking "im gonna lose my stuff" you would realise that if the servers economy continues as it is the whole thing will collapse and money will be worthless. So please stop complaining look at the big picture and you will realise that igmikey and the other admins are only trying to do what is best for the server. I for one fully support the idea as i understand the consequences of what will happen if changes are not made.

sorry to just jump in here, but are we talking about making everyone start from scratch money wise? just money? if so im fine with taht cause there has to be a legit reason, i dont care what the reason is, the dedication from staff on the server shows that they give up ALOT of personal time to make the server run to the best of its capabilities, so if this reset economy thing is gonna help then great go ahead (just my personal opinion lol) and if i'm completely off track about this whole thing, then im just gonna have to laugh it off, lol you guys may be talking about something completey different haha. anyway thanx, thats my 5 cents there guys  |

I can see that the server economy is currently greatly suffering from a massive inbalance of money entering and money leaving. Currently, there is a GSD source of new players and monster kills, but theres exists no GSD sinks. The effect of this means and increase in the supply of money but an unchanging supply of goods. Translated to a demand and supply graph, demand shifts right as poeple gain more and more GSD but supply of resources remain the same, causing an upwards shift of the general price of goods.
Ig is right to catch this decay of the economy early, but he is recommended to make sure the new system will not decay as the first system had done. My main recomendation this that the amount of money within the economy should be fixed (i.e. GSD is like the gold and silver coins used before the introduction of fiat currency-one cannot just "print more" like them blasted American economy cheats). AOC is a small community, though it is a big server, so the big economic phenomena of the constantly changing supplies of money vs supply of products do not work.

OK i have an opinion (1) That post the LONG run on sentence is mine. (2) Im dutch. (3) I was not complaining about resetting money i'm just saying that you will have to reset it like 2 every 6 months if you don,t get rid of the shops Then none will be able to get the money for a town and such. (4) I think (If i were owner or admin) I would close the shops and maybe collapse all the money. (I am not owner and i am not challenging the command of this server). (5) The only thing i don't like about these forums is that nobody listens to others.
