Erodin’s basic information:
Age: 37
Ingame Name: Surakhan
Class: Warrior/Human
Title: Captain
Erodin Seregon would now easily be described as the image of a wanderer, even when staying in a town. He strolls along as if without a goal now, an empty shell of what he once was. In his youth Erodin was a sailor, working honestly for days at a time to load and unload ships, sailing through storms and waves to get the ship and its goods from port to port. After many years living like this he grew tired of it all. Month in and month out he worked, and at every port got enough coin to get by barely, while his captains ate like kings, slept comfortable in their cabin, and did nothing to aid in the work themselves. It wasn’t long till talking amongst the crew of one of the ships he worked on led to a mutiny at sea, leaving the captain dead in the water and him in charge. This was easy to cover with minor bits of paperwork, another thing “Captain Seregon” hated about his line of work.
With all his hatred of gluttonous captains and a joke of a port authority he still loved his work overall. Once he was captain his life seemed to be grand for a time, allowing him more time to enjoy the sea that he loved so much. Several years of this past and his crew were happy with their new leader’s work ethic and his pay. He worked hard to do right by his crew, giving everyone a fair cut and doing a fair amount of the work himself. Despite all this he still grew greedy, as do most humans. Strict to his honor he refused to cut his crews pay to line his own pockets, so he decided to take on more risky cargo. This lead to several close calls with pirates and the like, but him and his crew came away much richer. After much hard work and upgrading, he changed the ship to much better handle pirates, and hired on enough crew to run this new ship.
Now with new ship and new crew, Captain Seregon sailed out to the farthest corners of the sea, going from port to port taking on the most dangerous cargo, and filling the pockets of his entire crew to the brim. This was a great time in all their lives, the dangers that brought them close to death many times even served to excite them. Full of adrenaline and newly armed to the teeth with more and more cannons and guns picked up in every port, they made a habit of sending every pirate ship they came across to the bottom of the sea. This got the attention of every pirate and would be pirate, leading eventually to his downfall.
In the end it was only two ships that ended him. As he sailed between ports with his cargo, his ship came upon another cargo ship being pirated away. As they came to help, the pirates returned to their ship to fight, and the “’cargo ship” Seemed to retreat, turning around when the battle started and flanked his ship, quickly killing off his crew, and cornering him. Rather than make certain he was dead, rather than shoot him, stab him, or weight him down and toss him to the sharks he was left in a small row boat, left to drift off till the sea took him itself.
Days past, days filled with rowing, drifting, and much prayer. It wasn’t long till all hope had left him and he simply lay in his boat, drifting as he to waited for the sea to take him. He awoke to the sound of seagulls above, and water crashing on the shores. Unable to believe his ears, he quickly stumbled out of the boat, collapsing onto the shore and rejoicing, happy to be on land. As he looked up over the shore, he saw the tops of stone walls and towers, structures he would soon find to be the defenses of Rull. As he gazed upon the city, tears started to roll over his cheeks. His crew was dead, his ship was gone, his fortune plundered, and his life at sea over. Swallowing his sadness, he pushed on slowly making his way to the great city and his new life, nothing but his tattered clothes to call his own.
