The history of the nether <Volume I>
Before Worlds Forge when the nether was but a young simple dimension, a chuck of bedrock fell from the ceiling of the nether and crashed into the lava lakes below. It was there and then that the mighty nether demon, the all-father of evil was borne. As the first being in the nether he knew that this dimension was his to play with. His first creation happened accidentally while experimenting with netherrack. When an explosion happened when he dropped some in lava he caused two things. The first and most obvious was a new source of light, the radiant light of the Glowstone created blinded him temporarily so that he couldn't see the monstrous blob he had created. The fire slime was a gloop of raw creation. Kol pondered over his accidental genius and decided he could try other things to make new life in this hellish place...

The history of the nether <Volume II>
It had been decades maybe centuries since Kol's magical discovery of the fire slime and he was growing old. He decided he had not left a big enough mark i this world and wanted a predecessor to take over when his life-force diminished. It was, he thought, time to return to his place of birth, maybe that would give him the answers he sought. He swam out to the exact place he had been created. He looked up and smiled. The answer was his...
Kol had been created when the crust and structure of the world, bedrock, had fallen from the highest heights of the nether. He could make that happen again. With little thought he flew to the spot where the bedrock had fallen and with all his immense strength he ripped down another piece and watched it fall. Some of it had come off target and would hit the river bank but most of it was on target as it hit the lava with an almighty splash. A new being not too unlike him, shorter but otherwise similar. When he saw the things face Kol experienced feelings that he had not ever considered. Victory, happiness and among other things, love. He saw this creature as a fine partner.
It was not too long before Kol felt his life force dwindling and it would not be long be for it was extinguished entirely. His beloved had erected a monolith from the volcanic rock found in the bottom of the lava lakes. It was beautiful, a black square that when looked through showed the birth place of himself. But his personal quest was still unfinished, his quest for a predecessor remained unfinished.
It was in his last day, that it happened. The last day of Kol's life was here. But his last day was the most blissful of his life. He new his time had come and as he walked the nether for the last time his eyes fell upon the statue his wife had erected. Kol saw a spark in the monolith. A tiny spark of red magic had appeared. At first he thought it was his deteriorating mind playing tricks on him but then it happened again. That was the only warning he got before red and orange magic exploded around the Obsidian structure. An inferno raged through everywhere and then dissipated as fast as it had come. A figure stood there fists clenched and studying the scene around him. The being had a black body and fire coming out of his eyes. A terrifying sight even to Kol. As this awesome thing stood, dark red horns curved out of the top of his head very much like Kol's.
'what are you?' Kol asked in happy wonder 'i am Pyros elemental god of fire' replied Pyros 'and this realm is yours' they were Kol's dying words...

<Volume III>
Kol’s corpse lay on the obsidian portal. He looked peaceful with his hands on his chest. Around his head his spirit swirled alive but with no adequate body to host him, he may as well be gone. Pyros had searched the demons thoughts just before he had died. He saw the man not only as his master but as a kind of father. He new that Kol had lived his life creating things. Despite Pyros’ desire to destroy as a fire god, he wanted to impress Kol . So he set about his experiments as Kol had, combining this with that then that with this but no avail. The god of fire, with all his might and power could not create only destroy.
Pyros felt like he had failed his master as he sat in his chambers of the fortress. He watched a fire slime go by and suddenly he thought of an idea he had not considered before, experimenting with life. He would find a evolutional pattern that fitted the blobs of raw creation and apply it. This time he would not fail. He needed to give these things a new spirit. Kol’s spirit was the only one that came available and it was perfect.

<Volume IV>
The spirit fed all the way in to his chosen subject. Pyros had chosen the most immense beast he could find. The thing was about three times the size of himself! The spirit accepted its new body and pored into it. The slime convulsed. Pyros was worried that he may have killed the spirit and the slime at the same time but eventually it settled and crackled with energy. It grew bigger, and bigger then so big Pyros had to take a step back to avoid being consumed. The slime thing grew legs that turned into tentacles and it fizzled fire at the mouth. Then it lifted off the ground and floated away. It looked peaceful at first but then it coughed up a massive fireball. Bigger then anything Pyros could conjure! The fire set the nether alight even more then Pyros had. Pyros now seeming small thought of this monster not as an equal, but higher then him. Pyros smiled. This was his first creation.
The overworld was coming into the 2nd age though Pyros didn’t know it. He had been isolated from any news since he had come down here. On a few occasions he thought about going back but he knew he belonged here. This place was his home. Pyros new he was getting older and not even a god such as himself could stop that and it annoyed him when his first intruders came in…
An Elvin farmer came through the portal in curiosity. Pyros sensed the unwelcome visitor and confronted him. ‘Go back or be destroyed’ he said ‘Where am I’ said the farmer ignoring the demon This was enough to anger Pyros but as he was about to strike the man down he heard a terrible racket behind the portal. Small pink squealy things came out of the portal. Pyros had had enough. How dare these things come into he realm?! with a massive burst of anger he summoned lighting every where. The world lit up for half a minute until Pyros calmed. Before him stood an army of zombies with pig heads with swords. Another creation…
