Throughout the past week or so, I have heard SEVERAL People who want to create a new guild. While this is fine and all, you can't just make one out of thin air. Guilds need to be applied for and ideas submitted on the forums for approval. Also, before making a guild, think of this:
Are you willing to drop building/town stuff if the Guild needs you? RP Jobs are taken seriously
Will you be bias toward your friends and town members? Thats a Big No-No. Everyone has an equal opportunity to be in a guild.
Is your guild Idea already taken? I've seen multiple people wanting to make, mostly, an Assassin Guild. We already have one in Archonfel. We also have the Guardians (Guards of Rull and its territorys) and the Enderguards (Guardians of ancient and sacred scrolls from The End) ((We do need a Priest guild or Medical Team or something, Hint Hint Wink Wink, Lucavex))
Also, don't expect a profit off of making a Guild. With the exception of the Assassin Guild, you usually don't make that much money through a guild
Lastly, and most importantly, where will your HQ be? Towns and RP are separate entities, so a RP Guild cannot be based within a town. It must be equally reachable by all members, not just your town members. If the Guild is a truly good and thought out idea, you may be able to get a zoned off area for your personal use in the Guild (Kinda like a town. No one can break in, steal, etc)
Please, I fully support new guilds. It gives someone a purpose, some friends, some status, and in some cases, a place to stay. But, please think about your Guild before charging in head first. Dont just say 'OH! Im gonna be the LEADER OF THE MAGES!'. No. You'll have to apply, and if it doesnt make it (which it prob won't in that specific example), Dont be afraid to start at the bottom and work your way up. Your not going to get Headmaster or Grand Master or anything in days. Just like the real world, it takes time, patience, and more time to get that high a status.
