Kingmii, a leader would defeat the purpose of a council.

Not necessarily, just look at our government, it's pretty much the same sort of thing.

yea we got it. I think that the leader should be elected from the council of high priests along with a deputy/assistant (I guess I will play this role for now but my RP character wouldn't like to be in this position for long). The leader should bear the name Pontiff or Pontiff Maximus and like the pope will keep power until death. We should have a small standing army (this could include players who aren't of priest or dark priest class although they would have to prove dedication to the religion). This would be for protection and also to be used in extreme cases to crush heretics. I think Zasuti could remain as the god of evil although we should recognize that by being the god of evil he is also the god of the absence of evil. Kingmii, this post is completely flawed =-= A) As Elk was trying to argue, All Gods Are Equal, so there should not be one head person, solely the council. Each Member of the Council would represent their God and its Ideals, and with an Odd Number of Head Priests, Voting could be used. Also, you are going too Hard on the Catholic Church theme. This is Mirugan, not Vatican City. Make up your own names, ranks, lore, etc B) You do not need an Army. You are not a Country, nor a town. You are simply a Guild. If anyone were to attack the Priest HQ, which would only happen in a MAJOR RP happening, the various Armies of other countries will come to your aid. If you get an Army, you will most likely get Big Headed and use Force to insure God's Will. This is not the Medieval "Church > Government" C) A respectable guild cannot openly call one of their ideals "The God of Evil". So, as I said, Elk should preach that Zasuti is the God of Equality, bringing Power to the Weak. Unfortunately, that means Destruction of the Strong, but that little fact can be ignored within the teachings :b

I think a small force (let's not call it an army) is necessary for 1) involving a greater range of players 2) Priests should concentrate on creating awareness of the gods, the force good do range of things including construction, running errands, collecting resources, helping with recruitment and probably other activities to and although I accept that we don’t need actual protection I still think we need a certain amount of power in RP and having a small amount of manpower to back this up is a good idea. As I am still new to the server I don’t know the exact rules of guilds so please be patient with me I am really keen to help get this going.

Yeah I posted a little lore on the unofficial history site which might work for the 4 gods..but I think it goes against the 9 worlds that Orman proposed. I really need more clarification on the history of the gods before Rull/Mirugan. Also alwayz there are only 4 gods...not an odd number If an admin would be so kind as to give me clarification on the history of the gods and worlds, that would be great! Thanks

Keep in mind that more goes can always be written in. I believe Neko is making a nature goddess of sorts.

If we want to continue making gods as the religion progresses that is fine. However I think that if that does happen there should be a select few of elder gods, around 4-6, that are above all other gods and rule over them (Kinda like the Greek thing with Zeus). That way the council can represent the elder gods and the lesser priests can worship what ever god they choose. We would still need history on each god though (how they come into existence and their motivations/goals/powers etc.)

This is my course of action with this that I believe to be fair and logical:
I am trying to get Orman's Piece "The Nine Worlds" into official history. (Having trouble cause Admins are STILL playing Diablo =-=) But, once it does get accepted, it will be a major help. It describes 9 Different Dimensions and Lore about each. We could make it so that each God came from one of those worlds. Not only does it already give us ideas and an odd number of gods, but it helps with explaining their Origans, and which Towns of Mirugan they are associated with.
Also, There will be no Elder Gods. As you said, All Gods are Equal. If you are just trying to weasel yourself into a higher standing above others, No. There will be the 9 Major Gods (Zicagmar, Zasuti, Nature God, Dwarven/Crafting God, God of the Sky, God of the Ocean, Vampire God/Solumde(Since Vampires reside in Lava areas), and the "Mushroom God" or something of that sort that we can make up later) The Head Priests of those 9 Gods will make up the Council. All Other Priests will be disciples of the Head Priests; Same God Worshipped, but not as high rank.
Also, again, you should not, and most likely will not, have any kind of Protection Force. You are a Neutral Guild that WILL NOT be attacked, except for Admin-Drawn Super Events, so you need not worry. AGAIN, this is not the medieval church, you will not be a physical force, just a spiritual. If anyone did attack you, I will guarantee that 90% of the World's Inhabitance will come to your aid

The Dwarves actually live in a more Mountainous Environment (CLIFFside..... Emphasis on CLIFF). And thats not a decision Shez can make, that's for L3mon to decide what God he wants. I personally think that a God of Crafting would be more up the Dwarven Alley

Then doesn't that mean vampires should have their own god, or is that what the / meant?

Well, in the Nine Worlds, it talks of 9 Different Dimensions of sorts. It would make great sense if each dimension had a god... right? That and how different Dimensions have been linked to towns, like the Nature ONe to Mirkwood, Dwarven one to Cliffside, Vampire one to Trueblood, Ender one to Endercity, Nether one to Lucavex's area, and more.
It only makes sense =_=

Err, actually this might deflate you slightly Alwayz, but my view of the gods in Nine Worlds is that they are not bound to each world. In my model, they each affect all of the nine dimensions and perhaps many places more beyond this universe. The gods in the Nine Worlds model are also orginally planned to be enternal-we don't know how they were created or whether they were even created at all. Zasuti is also currently written as the Great Enemy and the main antagonist of the Firstborn in ancient times.
Of course, all this can be tweeked if the above standing is disaproved...

Yes, I know most of what you said Orman, but like I said, it is already known that Zicagmar was originally from what now is Mirugan, Zasuti is the God of the Nether, and Terminus is from The End/Ender, so it would make sense that there was/is One Main God per World. Mirugan, being a collaboration of all the other Worlds, would also have aspects of worship from the descendants of the other worlds

Actually, if you read Ig's Dawn of Mirugan you will find that Zicmagar is only a blessed visitor to Artandan (which he then transformed into Mirugan). No history has ever been written of Zasuti.
